Bemo 3547311 MOB ABst 381 control car "GPX" (WECHSELSTROM/AC) Product Details

The model: In order to create a simple passenger connection from Montreux on Lake Geneva to Interlaken in the Bernese Oberland at the foot of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau, this route was launched in December. The main aim was to connect the towns without the need for a detour. However, the main difficulty of the undertaking was that narrow-gauge meter tracks are used in Montreux and standard-gauge tracks in Interlaken. The solution to the problem is a gauge changeover facility in Zweisimmen, which prepares the team of two driving trailers and two Panorama passenger carriages for the respective track gauge at slow speed. For this purpose, lateral roller carriers are supported on the bogies, while the bogies are adapted for the other track, depending on the direction of travel. In addition, the height of the carriage body is adjusted due to the different platform standard height. On the standard track between Zweisimmen and Interlaken, the train is driven by a BLS Re 465 electric locomotive. This requires an additional interface car that translates between the different types of couplers.

About the model: In order to implement this special route and its train set appropriately, Bemo has decided to produce the model train both as an H0 direct current and alternating current version and as a direct current H0m version. This AC MOB ABst 381 cab control car offers an outstanding appearance as well as various lighting functions. It is visually impressive thanks to the perfectly reproduced shapes of the original and very precise printing. The lighting functions implemented with LEDs include an illuminated driver's cab and interior lighting, as well as a train destination display on the front and a headlight. The car has a Next18 (NEM 662) digital interface so that it can also be used for digital operation.
