About the model: By popular demand, BEMO is also offering the slowest express train in the world in H0 standard gauge. With specially designed bogies, the RhB tourist trains of the Glacier and Bernina Express can be used in the 16.5 mm gauge. This allows operation in both the DC and AC systems.
About the prototype: To mark the 75th anniversary of the "Glacier Express" St. Moritz-Chur-Brig-Zermatt, which has been running since 1930, RhB and MGB presented their new GEX 2006 train concept: both railroads are putting two six-car panoramic coach sets in red/glacier blue with a white Swiss cross on the coach crossings into service. The modern coaches offer more travel comfort and feature a new catering concept, among other things: The freshly prepared menu in the panoramic dining car is served directly at your seat.
