About the model: For a long time, there was no train connection between Montreux on Lake Geneva and Interlaken in the Bernese Oberland that did not require a change of trains. This was mainly due to the fact that the start of the journey in Montreux was on narrow-gauge meter tracks, but the destination in Interlaken had standard-gauge tracks. In addition, different platform heights made a direct connection difficult. However, the new line, which opened on December 11, 2022, overcomes these hurdles very skillfully. The futuristically designed train set consists of two driving trailers and two panoramic coaches and is powered by a Ge 4/4 electric locomotive on the narrow-gauge line from Montreux to Zweisimmen. After just over half of the route, in Zweisimmen, the decisive move happens that makes this connection possible in the first place. At slow speed, the carriages are supported by lateral roller supports on the bogies, while the bogies are widened for normal gauge operation and the carriage bodies are adapted to the corresponding platform height. Between Zweisimmen and Interlaken, propulsion is provided by a BLS Re 465 electric locomotive, which is coupled to the train set by means of an interface carriage. This is required as the couplings of the locomotive and control car differ and the interface car can translate between them.

About the model: In order to do justice to this special train and its route, Bemo is producing the train set both as an H0m version and as an H0 model for direct and alternating current. The panorama car in this model is part of the H0 direct current train and impresses with its outstandingly reproduced exterior and accurate printing. It also has a finely detailed interior. The car is prepared for the installation of interior lighting so that it can be viewed even more closely, which makes this considerably easier.
