About the model: The DRG Cid passenger car is a prototypical 1:87 scale model from Brawa. This detailed model is equipped with a filigree bogie made of impact-resistant plastic and has a multi-part brake system with brake shoes at wheel level. The attached grab rails and steps are precisely crafted despite the low material thickness, giving the car an authentic look.
About the prototype: A large number of the Cid 21 came to the DB after the Second World War. The DB could not do without the still quite new coaches and used them in passenger train service throughout Germany. When the 3rd carriage class was abolished in 1956, the Cid were upgraded to 2nd class and from then on ran as Bid 21. Passengers thus paid for the comfort of the 4th carriage class abolished in 1928 with a ticket in the new 2nd class.
