Brawa 46203 H0 passenger car C4üpwe, "DER Ferienexpress", DB, Ep. III, AC-Beleuchtung Product Details

Brawa 46203 H0 Passenger Car C4üpwe "DER Ferienexpress", DB, Era III - Historic Passenger Car with AC Lighting

The Brawa 46203 H0 C4üpwe "DER Ferienexpress" passenger car is a highly detailed reproduction of a classic German Federal Railroad (DB) passenger car from Era III. This car was part of the popular Ferienexpress trains that were used in organized tourist traffic in the 1950s and 1960s. With detailed AC lighting and precise model realization, this model is a perfect addition to any historical collection and an excellent choice for model railroaders who want to recreate classic rail travel.

The prototype: Comfortable travel on the vacation express

In the 1920s, the Deutsche Reichsbahn-Gesellschaft (DRG) began to modernize travel comfort on long-distance routes. In the course of these modernizations, four-axle compartment coaches were used, which soon became a feature of long-distance travel thanks to their large windows and comfortable interiors. From 1930, these coaches were also used in the Ferienexpress, which took holidaymakers to the most beautiful vacation regions in Germany and Europe. The carriages offered passengers a comfortable and pleasant ride, which was still in demand in the 1960s.

Exact model reproduction with many details

The Brawa 46203 was designed with the greatest care according to the historical models. Particularly noteworthy are the precisely reproduced Görlitz III lightweight bogies with quadruple suspension, the complete reproduction of the braking system and the multi-colored interior with individual seats. The accurately fitted windows and the reproduction of the roof rivets also contribute to the high level of detail. The car is prepared for interior lighting and can be retrofitted with a lighting unit(BRAWA order number 2212) to make the interior even more realistic.

Technical equipment and lighting

The model is designed for operation on alternating current (AC) systems. The integrated AC lighting provides atmospheric illumination of the interior, authentically reflecting the atmosphere of historic rail travel. Additional digital components can be retrofitted with a solderable interface if required. The close coupling kinematics according to NEM make it possible to couple several cars safely and prototypically.

Running characteristics and minimum radius

The model has a length over buffers of 239.8 mm and a minimum radius of 360 mm, which makes it suitable for use on all standard H0 layouts. The three-point bearings and metal axle bearings ensure a smooth ride, and the metal wheels ensure stable and smooth movement on the track.

Flexibility and customization options

Although the model is optimized for operation on AC systems, AC wheel set replacement is not recommended as the model was developed for DC operations. For those who would still like to use the car on DC systems, Brawa offers corresponding options for adapting to AC systems with an AC pickup shoe (BRAWA order number 2222).

Conclusion: A highlight for Era III collectors and model railroaders

The Brawa 46203 H0 passenger coach C4üpwe "DER Ferienexpress" is a beautifully detailed model that brings the history of organized rail travel in Era III to life. With its excellent AC lighting, precise reproduction and the option of retrofitting additional digital functions, this model is an absolute must for all fans of historic model railroads and tourist trains.
