The Prototype – The Fals 175 as a Heavy-Duty Freight Car for the DB

To meet the growing demand for bulk freight transport, the Deutsche Bundesbahn began purchasing numerous open self-unloading cars in 1969. The Fals 175 differed from the 176 series due to specific modifications in accordance with UIC Leaflet 571.3—for example, in the design of the flap closures.
