Design & workmanship
The car has an impressive multi-colored design and authentic "Dapolin" lettering. The riveted construction of the underframe as well as finely depicted rivets and engravings emphasize the historic character. Extra railings, ladders, axle box covers and a finely detailed brake system make this wagon a particularly high-quality model. The brake shoes at wheel level and metal axle brackets round off the visually and technically sophisticated overall appearance.
Technical features & special functions
Thanks to the close coupling kinematics, the car is ideally suited for realistic train compositions. The multi-part brake system and free-standing add-on parts such as railings and ladders are not only a visual benefit, but also ensure an authentic overall appearance in operation. The wagon can be rolled and is ideal for use on classic Era II layouts.
Historical background
At the end of the 1920s, the Deutsche Reichsbahn began to standardize wagon running gear - the so-called exchange design. Tank wagons with a capacity of 19.2 m³ were among the first to be based on this underframe. They were used to transport flammable liquids and were built in large numbers between 1928 and 1938. The riveted construction was characteristic, as welding technology was not yet sufficiently developed. Some of the wagons remained in service until 1983 and shaped freight transport in Germany for decades.
Compatibility & expansion options
The model is compatible with all H0 track systems and can be excellently combined with other Era II freight cars. Its use in tank train compositions or as a striking single wagon in historic freight trains is particularly effective. The standardized coupler pocket makes it easy to integrate into existing car fleets.
