At the end of the 1920s, the Deutsche Reichsbahn began to standardize wagon running gear - the so-called exchange design. The riveted construction was characteristic, as welding technology was not yet sufficiently developed. Some of the wagons remained in service until 1983 and shaped freight transport in Germany for decades.
