Brawa 51170 H0 Reisezugwagen Bmhe, DR, Ep. IV Product Details
Brawa 51170 H0 Bmhe passenger coach, DR, Era IV - The "long Halberstadt" for express train services on the Deutsche Reichsbahn
Would you like to add a typical express train car of the German State Railroad to your Era IV layout? The Brawa 51170 Bmhe is an authentically realized representative of the so-called "long Halberstädter" - a must for realistic DR express trains of the 1980s.
Model with high detailing and true to the prototype
With a length over buffers of 303 mm and close-coupling kinematics, the car can be used reliably on the layout despite its size. The accurately fitted windows, printed window frames and period-appropriate interior fittings ensure a realistic appearance. The bogies are faithfully reproduced, and the generator and air heater on the car floor are separately applied. The rubber bead on the wagon gangway is sprung, the grab rails and steps are filigree. Interior lighting is prepared. Road number: 51 50 21-40 122-6.
The prototype - express train cars for regional and push-pull services
The type Bmhe passenger coaches were first used in DR express train service, especially on the Leipzig-Chemnitz line as part of the RegionalSchnellBahn (RSB). Later, they were also used in the old federal states - in some cases modernized and used in push-pull train sets. They were typically hauled by class 232, 112, 143, 219 or 234 locomotives.
Wagons with a lot of history - right up to the DB AG era
Even after reunification, many of these wagons remained in service. Especially in combination with rebuilt Bybdzf 482 driving trailers and the locomotives mentioned above, they shaped the image of the reversible train service in East Germany until well into the 2000s. Many cars were later taken over by the Hungarian MÁV or sold to private railroads.
Ideal for realistic express trains and push-pull train sets
This car can be used in a variety of ways - in a classic DR express train, as part of a regional train or in modern push-pull operation in the post-reunification era. It can be perfectly combined with other Halberstadt cars, Mitropa cars or DR double-decker cars.
A typical DR car - realized true to detail
With the Brawa 51170 you get a high-quality model with a striking look and high recognition value on your layout. Whether in the DR context or as a DB AG transition vehicle - a car with history.
