Description

Brawa 58243 H0 Passenger Car C4ü-38, DRG, Era II, DC Interior Lighting Product Details

Are you looking for a historically accurate DRG express train car with LED interior lighting for your Era II layout?

Then the Brawa 58243 H0 C4ü-38 “Münster 19 392” passenger car of the DRG is exactly the model that will complete your collection. With built-in LED interior lighting, exquisite craftsmanship, and authentic features, this car brings the flair of the late 1930s to your model railroad layout—true to detail, ready to run, and visually stunning.

Technical Details at a Glance

The C4ü-38 passenger car is designed for the 2-wire direct current (DC) system and conforms to the H0 scale (1:87). The length over buffers is 244 mm. It features a solderable interface, a NEM-compliant coupler housing, and close-coupling kinematics. The factory-installed LED interior lighting creates an atmospheric appearance, especially during nighttime runs or station scenes. Digital and sound functions are not included. The road number is: Münster 19 392.

Fine craftsmanship for the highest standards

The car impresses with numerous prototypical features: metal axle holders, true-to-prototype axle bearing caps, brake shoes flush with the wheel face, and a separately attached axle brake linkage are all included, as is a multi-part brake system. The complete reproduction of the vehicle floor and the interior furnishings specific to this variant underscore the high level of detail in this model. The interior lighting is already installed and uses modern LED technology for long-lasting and uniform illumination.

Historical Prototype – Express Service on the DRG

The C4ü-38 class belongs to the family of “skirted cars” designed by the Deutsche Reichsbahn in response to the growing demands of express service. Between 1939 and 1940, 310 cars of this type were delivered. Thanks to their innovative construction featuring welding techniques, smooth exterior walls, and aerodynamic fairings, they were considered pioneers of modern passenger railcars. Despite their limited service life before the war, the cars left a lasting impression and were, in some cases, continued to be used by the DB after the war ended. Their distinctive appearance makes them highly sought-after collector’s items in H0 scale today.

Contents and Features

Included in the package is the ready-to-run Brawa 58243 C4ü-38 Passenger Car with factory-installed LED interior lighting, detailed decals, and all accessories. The interior is fully detailed, and the reproduction of the car floor is true to the prototype.

Who is this model intended for?

This model is intended for model railroading enthusiasts focused on Era II, as well as collectors of high-quality DRG rolling stock. It is ideal for realistic pre-war express train formations or as a single car for display purposes. The factory-installed lighting makes it easy to put it to use on your layout right away.
