Brawa 58277 H0 express train car Bm 235, DB, Ep. V, AC-Innenbeleuchtung Product Details
Are you looking for an illuminated express train car for your AC layout?
The Brawa 58277 H0 Bm 235 Express Train Car of the Deutsche Bundesbahn brings genuine InterCity flair to your H0 model railroad layout with its factory-installed LED interior lighting, meticulous detailing, and authentic Era V design. Ideal for anyone looking for a prototypical car for 3-wire AC operation.
Model Information & Technical Data
This model is designed for H0 gauge (1:87 scale) and has a length over the buffers of 303 mm. It is designed for 3-wire AC operation and is equipped with LED interior lighting that is already installed. A solderable interface is provided, but the model is not digitally compatible. Thanks to the NEM-compliant coupler housing and close-coupling mechanism, the car can be easily integrated into existing train sets.
Prototype-accurate design down to the last detail
The car features a scale-accurate reproduction of the windows as well as period-correct interior fittings. Particularly noteworthy are the spring-loaded rubber bumpers at the car transitions, the butt-welded roofs, and the separately attached steps, handrails, and generator on the bogie. These fine details give the model a realistic appearance and make it a highlight on any layout.
Modern technology for atmospheric lighting
Thanks to the factory-installed LED interior lighting, the car is perfect for atmospheric night runs or displays. The disc-braked wheel sets of the 093 type ensure a true-to-life running pattern. Additionally, the model is compatible with the electric coupler from the BRAWA range, offering further application possibilities on digital layouts.
The Prototype: InterCity Comfort of the Deutsche Bundesbahn
The Bm 235 was introduced in 1979 as part of the Deutsche Bundesbahn’s InterCity ’79 program. The cars were developed from Bm 234 cars and equipped with disc and magnetic track brakes as well as Type 093 wheel sets. A total of 721 of these cars were built, initially in an ocean blue and beige paint scheme and later also in IC colors—light gray and traffic red—or in the ICE design. They were used in both InterCity and InterRegio service until the 2000s.
Ideal for AC layouts and Era V ensembles
Thanks to its 3-wire AC system, this car is ideally suited for Märklin-compatible model railroads. The LED interior lighting not only adds visual appeal to the model but also makes it a real eye-catcher even in low-light conditions. Ideal for combining with other Bm 235 cars or Deutsche Bundesbahn locomotives from Era V.
