Brawa 58298 H0 luggage trolley carPw4ü-37/52, DB, Ep. III, AC-Innenbeleuchtung Product Details
Are you looking for an illuminated DB baggage car from Era III for your AC layout?
The Brawa 58298 H0 Pw4ü-37/52 baggage car of the Deutsche Bundesbahn (DB) combines classic design with modern technology. Thanks to factory-installed LED interior lighting and a design faithful to the original, this model fits perfectly into authentic train formations from the 1950s and 1960s—especially for AC layouts.
Model Information & Technical Data
The model is built for H0 gauge, in 1:87 scale, and measures 249.70 mm over the buffers. It is designed for 3-wire AC operation and features built-in LED interior lighting as well as a solderable interface. Coupling is via a NEM shaft with close-coupling kinematics —ideal for tight car transitions and safe operation.
Highest level of detail – faithfully reproduced
The car is equipped with side walls and a roof design specific to the variant. Metal axle holders, prototypical axle bearing caps, brake shoes at wheel level, a multi-part brake system, and the separately attached axle brake linkage underscore the accurate implementation. The fully replicated car floor, along with the fine printing and paintwork, perfectly round out the model’s appearance.
Technically prepared – ready for immediate operation
The pre-installed LED lighting provides atmospheric lighting conditions for nighttime operation or in illuminated station scenes. The solderable interface allows for individual adjustments if needed. Thanks to the close-coupling mechanism, the car can be reliably integrated into Era III train sets—a perfect solution for modern AC layouts.
The Prototype: A Baggage Car with History
The Pw4ü cars of the 1936/37 type were built by the DRG starting in 1935 and later continued to be used by the Deutsche Bundesbahn. Numerous cars were converted starting in the 1950s: The roof cab was removed, new windows were installed, and the classic dog compartments disappeared. As Pw4ü-37/52, they remained in service into the 1980s and were a common sight on many D-trains of that era.
A classic for your Märklin-compatible layout
This baggage car is ideal for Era III AC layouts. The combination of authentic appearance, solid construction, and factory-installed lighting makes it a must-have for any model railroader focusing on the 1950s and 1960s of the Deutsche Bundesbahn.
