Brawa 70120 H0 steam locomotive 01.10, DB, Ep. III Product Details
Are you looking for a highly detailed DB express steam locomotive for your Era III layout?
The Brawa 70120 H0 steam locomotive BR 01.10 of the German Federal Railroad is a masterpiece in terms of detailing and faithfulness to the prototype. In 1964 operating condition, the 01 1066 locomotive presents itself with oil firing, new boiler, high chimney with attachment and other typical features such as roller bearings and satin turntables - perfect for the discerning model railroader.
Model information & technical data
The locomotive is designed on a scale of 1:87 for H0 gauge and measures 277.50 mm over buffers. It is designed for 2-wire direct current (DC) and has a PluX22 interface for easy digitization. Sound and decoder are not installed at the factory, but can easily be retrofitted.
Running gear & drive
The drive is in the tender for optimum driving characteristics. The locomotive has a close coupler between the locomotive and tender as well as a standard guide shaft at the tender end. Single axle bearings made of metal and a true-to-scale wheelbase guarantee smooth running characteristics. Minimum radius: recommended from R 420 mm.
Appearance & detailing
The model has an openwork ingot frame made of die-cast zinc, spoked metal wheels and finely reproduced driving and coupling rods. The internal engine is reproduced in detail. The rear wall of the boiler is prototypically reproduced and the locomotive has white LED lighting in the direction of travel.
Prototype history: The legendary 01.10 of the DB
The class 01.10 was the DB express locomotive par excellence of the post-war period. Originally equipped with streamlined cladding, the locomotives were stripped and modernized after the war. The 01 1066 of the Osnabrück depot with oil firing was even preserved as a museum after its active service life. The version shown here corresponds to the operating condition of 1964 - with a high chimney, six sandboxes and new cylinders.
For fans of express train romance & steam power in H0
Whether in front of long express trains on the runway or in Emsland service: The 01.10 with oil firing is a must for all model railroaders with a focus on the German Federal Railroad of Era III. Thanks to the PluX22 interface, the model can be technically expanded flexibly.
