Brawa 70131 H0 steam locomotive 01.10, DB, Ep. III, AC-Sound Product Details
Are you looking for a coal-fired express steam locomotive with digital sound for your AC layout?
The Brawa 70131 H0 steam locomotive BR 01.10 of the German Federal Railroad is an excellent reproduction of the 01 1098 in the condition from 1962. Equipped with a factory-installed digital decoder with sound, LED lighting and typical construction features such as old building cylinders, high one-piece chimney and coal firing, it is the perfect choice for your Era III layout with Märklin-compatible AC system.
Model information & technical data
The locomotive is designed on a scale of 1:87 for the H0 gauge and measures 277.50 mm over buffers. It is designed for the 3-wire alternating current system (AC) and is digitized at the factory with original sound. A PluX22 interface is integrated. Lighting is provided by LEDs with white light change and interior lighting.
Technology & running characteristics
The locomotive has a drive in the tender for the best running characteristics, a close coupler between the locomotive and the tender, and a standard guide shaft at the tender end. Single axle bearings made of metal and a true-to-scale wheelbase ensure excellent running characteristics. Recommended minimum radius: from R 420 mm.
Prototypical equipment
Features such as old-style cylinders, roller bearings, six sandboxes and the high one-piece chimney characterize the representation of the 01 1098. The body made of impact-resistant plastic is supplemented by an openwork die-cast zinc bar frame. Spoked wheels, filigree metal driving and coupling rods as well as a detailed internal engine make the model a real eye-catcher.
Prototype: The 01 1098 on the Main-Weser Railway
The 01.10 was originally built in 1939/40 with streamlining and was heavily modernized by the DB after the war. The 01 1098 was stationed at the Kassel depot and was regularly used on the Main-Weser-Bahn. Its condition from 1962 with old cylinders and high chimney was prototypically realized in this model.
Ideal for Era III fans with the Märklin system
With this locomotive, you can bring a piece of German Federal Railroad history to your layout. The combination of technical perfection, visual fidelity to the prototype and impressive sound makes the 70131 the centerpiece of every H0 express train composition.
