They all go by "Trabbi"! In the NVA (National People's Army) of the GDR, there were structural and non-structural regulators of the troops as well as regulators of the road commander service. The main tasks of structural regulators included traffic regulation, while non-structural regulators were used to regulate troop movements.
Of course, this was regulated very precisely in the GDR and so there were additional regulations for the NVA, which according to the StVO read: The traffic controllers or regulators of the NVA are persons authorized to regulate traffic in accordance with § 1 StVO. They are specially trained and confirmed for this purpose. All road users must comply with the demands made by them. Other members of the armed forces are not authorized to regulate traffic.
