ESU 36482 control car n-Wagen BDnrzf784, 82-34 265-2, DB, Ep. IV (DC) Product Details

ESU 36482 H0 BDnrzf784 cab control car, DB, Era IV: Historical "Silberling" of the German Federal Railroad in a detailed model

The ESU 36482 H0 BDnrzf784 cab control car is a precise reproduction of the well-known "Silberling" of the German Federal Railroad (DB) from Era IV. This cab control car with the car number 82-34 265-2 brings the typical aesthetics and technology of the "Silberlinge" to the H0 model railroad format. Equipped with true-to-original details such as a multi-colored interior, spring-loaded bellows and numerous lighting options, this control car is an excellent addition for all fans of historic German railroad cars. The car can be easily converted for AC systems with the optionally available AC wheel set (item number MBS173138).

About the prototype: The "Silberlinge" of the German Federal Railroad

The n-cars, also known as "Silberlinge", were introduced by the German Federal Railroad between 1959 and 1977 for local transport and to reinforce express trains. The uncoated outer skin with a peacock's eye pattern and the lack of paintwork made the carriages not only characteristic but also lighter. This increased their efficiency and made them suitable for a wide range of applications. From the 1980s onwards, some carriages were modernized and painted in striking pebble grey-orange for the City-Bahn or in mint turquoise-light grey for regional transport. The series continued to develop, and in the 1990s, driving trailers were given the "Wittenberg head" for a modern appearance. This versatility and robustness make the Silberlinge a symbol of German local transport to this day.

Realistic equipment and high-quality workmanship

The BDnrzf784 control car in Era IV from ESU is equipped with elaborately designed details that are based on the original. The multi-colored interior with separately inserted bench seats as well as the openwork steps and free-standing grab rails make this car a visual highlight. The control car is designed for a minimum passable radius of 360 mm and therefore offers flexibility for different system layouts.

Versatile lighting options for realistic operational representation

The model has separately switchable lighting for the front, driver's cab, luggage compartment and passenger compartment, allowing the carriage to be individually illuminated to match the train formation. The control car can also be retrofitted with interior lighting from ESU, which brings out the multi-colored interior and the detailed reproduction of the rows of seats.

Easy to convert to AC operation

The ESU 36482 driving trailer is equipped with DC wheelsets as standard, but can easily be converted to AC operation if required. The required AC wheelset is available separately under item number MBS173138 and enables smooth integration into any H0 AC layout.

Recommendation for model railroaders: The ESU 36482 BDnrzf784 for H0 layouts with historical flair

The ESU 36482 BDnrzf784 driving trailer is the perfect choice for model railroaders who want to integrate a detailed model of the DB "Silberlinge" on their H0 layout.
