ESU 58741 LokSound 5 micro DCC Direct Kato USA (Leerdecoder)

The LokSound 5 micro DCC Direct Kato USA was specially developed for installation in N-gauge vehicles of the Kato USA brand: This decoder can be installed in most of this manufacturer's American-style diesel locomotives instead of the standard analog board. Finally, these models can also be easily retrofitted with a LokSound decoder. The LokSound 5 micro DCC Direct Kato USA with its dimensions of 60.0mm x 10.1mm is a pure DCC decoder and is supplied without loudspeakers.

Sound

The LokSound 5 micro DCC Direct Kato USA decoder can play back up to 12 channels simultaneously. Each channel can be resolved with up to 16 bit / 31250 kHz and offers hi-fi quality on your system. There is practically no audible difference to the original. A Class-D audio power amplifier with up to 3W output power drives the speakers, which can have an impedance of between 4 Ohm and 32 Ohm. A 128 Mbit sound memory provides sufficient capacity. The volume of all individual sounds can be adjusted individually. The super-flexible sound engine without a rigid sequence plan allows the prototypically accurate simulation of all conceivable rail vehicles.

Functions

Despite its compact dimensions, the LokSound 5 micro DCC Direct Kato USA is equipped with an enormous number of function outputs. Two directly soldered SMD LEDs are provided for the front and rear headlights. For older models, two wired LEDs can alternatively be soldered in and switched separately. In addition, three further amplified function outputs are available. All important light functions are available. The brightness of each output can be set separately.

Motor control

The motor control of the LokSound 5 micro DCC Direct Kato USA has a variably adjustable PWM clock frequency from 10kHz to 50kHz, which ensures super-quiet operation, especially with bell-type armature motors - the typical "humming" is a thing of the past. The load control can also be adapted to difficult cases with up to 10 CVs. The unique "Autotune" function enables automatic tuning of the decoder to the motor. The LokSound 5 micro DCC Direct Kato USA decoder delivers up to 0.75A motor current.

Operating safety

If required, a PowerPack can be connected to the LokSound 5 micro DCC Direct Kato USA to bridge dirty sections of track.
