Car set 2 takes model railroad enthusiasts back to the past of the Deutsche Reichsbahn with two exquisitely designed double-decker cars of the DBmue class. This set is perfectly coordinated with the double-decker car set with item number MBS180505 to create a seamless and historically accurate collection.

The journey into history begins in 1971, when VEB Waggonbau Görlitz proudly delivered two prototypes of the double-decker single car to the DR. The introduction of these double-decker single-deck coaches promised more flexible adaptation to changing passenger volumes as well as savings in the event of damage. After extensive testing of the prototypes, the first series of around 138 vehicles was delivered from 1974. These carriages were fully equipped with seats on the lower floor and were initially used in the southern conurbations and on routes with high traffic volumes.

The double-decker car set 2 not only offers an accurate reproduction of the historic cars, but also the opportunity for collectors to integrate a piece of the fascinating history of the German State Railroad into their own model railroad world.
