Fleischmann 718284 steam locomotive BR 050, DB, Ep. IV (digital, without sound)

The German Federal Railroad's class 050 steam locomotive is factory-equipped with a permanently soldered-in digital decoder and has Witte wind deflectors and displays of all fittings, including in the driver's cab. Planned as a replacement for the Prussian G 10 in freight traffic, the class 50 developed into a universal locomotive by the end of the steam locomotive era. From 1939 to 1943, a total of 3,164 units were produced in 21 different locomotive factories. After 1945, over 2,000 locomotives remained with the German Federal Railways and some of them had to undergo major conversions, resulting in a large number of variants. The locomotives reached a top speed of 80 km/h, had an output of approx. 1,200 kW and an axle load of 15 tons.
