VT 601 - the comeback of a TEE classic

In the summer of 1990, the Deutsche Reichsbahn rented a ten-car set of the former TEE multiple unit VT 601 - including the reserve power head - for the Intercity "Max Liebermann". Between August 1 and September 29, this impressive train ran between Hamburg and Berlin as a symbol of the rapprochement between East and West - a historic moment in the era of impending reunification.

6-piece set with two power cars and four center cars

The set consists of two power cars (one motorized, both with sound) and four matching middle cars. The cars are accurately painted and lettered, equipped with true-to-original interior fittings and factory-installed LED interior lighting. The in-house coupling ensures a stable connection of the car parts.

Technically mature for digital operation

The power car is equipped with a 3-pole motor, flywheel, two powered axles (with traction tires) and direction-dependent LED headlights. Both power cars have an NEM 651 digital decoder and sound functions, guaranteeing a realistic driving experience.
