Kato 10-2024 N ICE 4/BR 412 XXL - 7-piece multiple unit "Federal Republic of Germany"

To mark the 30th anniversary of the ICE, the ICE 4 with vehicle number 9457 was ceremoniously christened "Federal Republic of Germany" by the Federal President in June 2021. Since then, this special train no longer runs with the classic red stripe, but proudly bears the colors of the German flag. As a so-called ICE XXL, the complete train comprises thirteen cars - this basic set reproduces the first seven cars including a motorized power car.

Technical details of the model

The model is manufactured on an exact scale of 1:160 (N gauge) and impresses with its detailed reproduction. The set includes a motorized power car, equipped with a five-pole motor and flywheel for smooth, powerful running. The multiple unit has a white/red light change that automatically adjusts depending on the direction of travel. The coupler in the front hatch allows double traction with additional units.

Prepared for digital expansion

The ICE 4 is digitally prepared and can be equipped with the appropriate decoder and sound decoder sets from Zimo (item no. K10950-D1/D2/DS). The model is also designed for the installation of Kato interior lighting (K11-213 and K11-214) to create an authentic ambience even at night.

True to the original and future-oriented

The ICE 4 represents the latest generation of DB AG long-distance trains. This model realistically reflects the modern design and technology of Era VI. The special paintwork with the German flag makes the train a highlight of any modern model railway layout and a must for all fans of the current railroad era.
