Stationary models of the Simson SR50 scooter
The prototype was built between 1986 and 2002 by the VEB Fahrzeug- und Jagdwaffenwerk "Ernst Thälmann" Suhl or later Suhler Fahrzeugwerk GmbH as a moped/scooter under the Simson brand name around 200,000 times.
It had an air-cooled 1-cylinder two-stroke petrol engine with a displacement of 49.9 cm³ and 2.7 kW / 3.7 hp at 5500 rpm, which enabled top speeds of 60 km/h.
