LGB 25020 G Draisine VW-Bus, DB, Ep. III, DC-MFX-Sound Product Details

LGB 25020 G Draisine VW Bus, DB, Era III, DC MFX Sound - Historic Work Vehicle in G Scale

With the LGB 25020 you get a very special vehicle on your garden railroad: the KLV 20 trolley based on the VW T1, in the typical design of the German Federal Railroad of Era III. This unusual model combines the charm of the legendary VW bus with a railroad character and impresses with its detailed reproduction and modern digital technology. A highlight for every garden railroader with an appreciation for special vehicles!

A VW T1 as a draisine - technical history on rails

In the 1950s, various VW buses were converted into trolleybuses at Waggon- und Maschinenbau Donauwörth and at the Beilhack company. The vehicles were used for track control and the easy transportation of personnel and tools. Characteristic conversions such as the removal of the steering wheel, the installation of side steps and the conversion to railroad wheelsets have also been authentically implemented in the model. This creates a realistic impression of this unusual Era III rail vehicle.

Modern technology meets historical model

The model is equipped with an mfx/DCC-capable sound decoder that reproduces realistic sounds. The lighting consists of switchable head and tail lighting as well as digitally switchable interior lighting. In addition, an integrated energy storage unit ensures uninterrupted operation in the event of short power gaps - ideal for use in garden railway operation.

Realized true to detail in G scale

With a vehicle length of approx. 19 cm, the trolley is compact, but still a real eye-catcher on any layout. The classic color scheme and the fine details of the exterior and interior design reflect the prototype of the German Federal Railroad in an impressive way. The use in Era III makes this model the ideal addition to historical operating displays.

A must for fans of rare vehicles

The LGB 25020 VW bus as a trolley is not only a technical highlight, but also an extremely rare and striking vehicle in model railroad operation. It adds an original and historical element to any collection. Perfectly suited for scenes involving track maintenance, depots or as a one-off on the open track.
