The Märklin 38680 H0 electric locomotive Ae 6/8 is an impressive reproduction of the classic electric locomotive of the Bern-Lötschberg-Simplon Railroad (BLS). This locomotive of the 2nd construction series with the road number 207 shows the condition at the end of the 1940s to the beginning of the 1950s and impresses with its dark brown basic paint scheme, numerous intricate details and modern digital technology. The prototype: BLS Ae 6/8
The BLS Ae 6/8 was one of the most powerful electric locomotives of its time and was specially developed for use on the demanding Lötschberg line. In its original condition with two pantographs, brake resistors in the engine room and front transition plates, this locomotive was a pioneer for modern freight and passenger traffic in Switzerland.
