Märklin 38901 H0 Class 2019 dual-power locomotive, ELP, Ep. VI, AC MFX sound
The Märklin 38901 represents an ultra-modern class 2019 (Stadler Euro9000) dual-power locomotive that was leased to Rail Force One by the European Loc Pool AG (ELP). The model shows the machine with the operating number 2019 302-9 in operating condition from 2023 in a gray/black color scheme with a striking RFO design. As a completely new construction in the finest metal design, the model impresses with numerous digital functions and intricate details.
Prototype and use
The Stadler Euro9000 is a powerful multi-system dual-power locomotive for cross-border freight traffic in Europe. It is approved for use in Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland and Italy and offers maximum flexibility thanks to electric and diesel propulsion. With modern technology, high efficiency and its characteristic design, the BR 2019 is a milestone in European rail transport.
Model highlights
The Märklin 38901 has numerous special features. All four pantographs can be raised and lowered independently of each other digitally - a first in the model railroad sector. The locomotive also has powered fan wheels on the roof that can be controlled digitally. The highly detailed roof design with different contact strips for use in different countries underlines the international orientation of this locomotive.
Digital equipment
The model is equipped with an mfx+ digital decoder and extensive operating and sound functions. These include realistic motor sounds, signal horns and numerous function variants. The three-light headlights with two red marker lights that depend on the direction of travel can be used conventionally and can be controlled digitally. High beam, driver's cab and driver's desk lighting as well as direction-dependent coupling compartment lighting are also available. Various shunting and special signals for several countries can also be controlled digitally.
Technical features
A controlled high-performance drive with flywheel mass is installed centrally and drives two axles in each bogie via a cardan shaft. Traction tires provide additional traction. The lighting is provided by maintenance-free warm white and red LEDs. A buffer tank reliably bridges powerless sections. With numerous separately applied details such as grab irons, UIC sockets, sandboxes and roof lines, the locomotive is a real masterpiece. The length over buffers is 26.4 cm and the buffer height complies with the NEM standards.
Use on the model railroad
The Märklin 38901 class 2019 is a must for anyone who wants to represent modern international freight service in Era VI on their H0 layout. With its unique variety of functions and the striking RFO design, it sets standards in terms of realism and technology.
