The PIKO 52115 presents the BR 248 Vectron Dual Mode hybrid locomotive in the intercity livery of Deutsche Bahn AG - a powerful model with modern technology and an authentic appearance. Prototype: Vectron Dual Mode - modern hybrid technology on the rails
The 248 series combines electric and diesel-mechanical drive technology in one locomotive, making it particularly flexible to use. The Vectron Dual Mode locomotives are used both on electrified main lines and on non-electrified branch lines - ideal for freight and passenger services. The Intercity color scheme underlines the modern design and the high-quality purpose of these machines.
Model technology based on proven PIKO design
The locomotive has a powerful central motor, two flywheels and diagonal traction tires for optimum traction. A digital interface according to NEM 658 (PluX22) is available as standard, as well as digitally switchable engine room lighting. The model is prepared at the factory for uncomplicated retrofitting with a PIKO sound decoder (item no. 56631) and large loudspeaker.
