The Märklin 39478 class 101 electric locomotive is an express train locomotive in use with the former Metropolitan passenger cars in the ICE design. In a traffic red paint scheme and with the road number 101 131-1, it represents the operating condition around 2015. This special version is the perfect locomotive for the matching 42930 express train car set - for authentic long-distance service on your H0 layout in Era VI.

Powerful drive for modern express trains

The centrally installed high-performance drive with flywheel drives all four axles via cardan shafts. Traction tires provide optimum traction. The locomotive is equipped with an mfx+ decoder and offers extensive sound and light functions - ideal for realistic digital operation.

Versatile light functions and controllability

The three-light headlights and the red marker lights change depending on the direction of travel and can be controlled digitally. In addition, the main headlights and the driver's cab lighting can be controlled separately in digital mode. The headlights can be deactivated individually on both sides of the locomotive. The double A light function can also be activated.

Prepared for Metropolitan use

A two-pole current-carrying coupling is plugged into the standard shaft on locomotive side 2 - intended for electrical connection with the 42930 ICE express train car set. A normal close coupling head is mounted on locomotive side 1. This locomotive has a different road number than the model from the 26931 train set and is a perfect addition to existing MET compositions.
