Märklin 39994 H0 electric loco 194 178-0, DB, Ep. IV, AC-MFX+-Sound Product Details
Märklin 39994 H0 German Federal Railroad Class 194 178-0 Electric Locomotive - Era IV with AC MFX+ Sound
The German Federal Railroad (DB) class 194 heavy freight electric locomotive in the basic paint scheme of ocean blue/ivory and with the road number 194 178-0 is an impressive model that authentically represents the operating condition around 1980. With the latest digital technology and loving details, this Märklin model brings the fascination of Era IV directly to your model railroad layout.
Product details & technical specifications
The model is 214 mm long over buffers and is designed for the H0 gauge. Equipped with an mfx+ digital decoder, it offers extensive sound functions for a realistic operating experience. The controlled high-performance drive with flywheel mass is installed centrally and drives two axles per bogie. Traction tires ensure optimum traction. The lighting with maintenance-free warm white and red LEDs offers a light change depending on the direction of travel between three-light headlights and red marker lights.
The headlights on locomotive sides 1 and 2 can be switched off separately digitally. If both headlights are switched off, the double A light function is activated on both sides. The cab lighting can also be switched on and off separately in digital mode. A direction-dependent starting lamp can also be switched digitally. The coupling system consists of a NEM coupling shaft with close coupling kinematics (KK kinematics).
Design & workmanship
The locomotive has finely applied grab irons and a relief interior in the cab and engine room. An engineer figure sits in cab 1 and provides additional realism. The slightly aged operating condition of the paintwork conveys the authentic impression of the use of the locomotive in the 1980s. Attachable brake hoses and imitation screw couplings are included separately to further increase the level of detail.
Technical features & special features
The mfx+ digital decoder allows extensive control of the light and sound functions. The central high-performance drive with flywheel mass ensures smooth running and powerful performance. The lighting with warm white and red LEDs is maintenance-free and particularly realistic. The various light functions, including direction of travel-dependent change, separately switchable head signals and starting lamp, set standards in model railroad technology.
