The prototype - Train route D 74 Hamburg - Basel

The D 74 express train connected Hamburg-Altona with Basel SBB and ran a varied mix of cars. This set includes:

• 1 four-axle ABC4üwe apron car (1st/2nd/3rd class)
• 1 DSG four-axle WR4ü(e) dining car
• 1 four-axle C4ü seating car (3rd class)

The coaches reflect the operating conditions around 1955 - a time when comfort, travel culture and catering were very important on long-distance services.

Technically well equipped

All coaches have standard LED interior lighting with warm white LEDs and a buffer capacitor for flicker-free operation. Power is supplied via current-conducting close couplers in conjunction with the ABC4ü car from the 42491 set, which is equipped with a pickup shoe. The sequence of cars in the train set is fixed and corresponds to the prototype.

Attention to detail for the highest demands

The models have imprinted wagon running signs, serial numbers and optional interchangeable bellows and coupling heads for the end of the train. All wagons are designed in full scale and are suitable for a minimum radius of 360 mm. The high-quality design makes the set a real highlight in Era III express train operation.

Ideal combination for the complete D 74

The set is perfectly coordinated with the class 01.10 with new boiler (item no. 39105) and can be put together with the sets 42491 and 42526 to form a complete, prototypical D 74 express train. An enclosed leporello shows the complete car formation and helps with the realistic train formation.

Scope of delivery

The set includes three express train cars with LED interior lighting, live couplers, route and order lettering as well as a fanfold to show the complete train. Normal coupler heads and short bellows for the end of the train are also included. Total length over buffers: approx. 77 cm.
