The prototype - ICE 1051 from Cologne to Berlin

The cars included were originally part of the high-quality Metropolitan train and were later integrated into the ICE/IC fleet by DB AG. They ran as ICE 1051 between Cologne and Berlin Ostbahnhof. The train consisted of seven comfortable express train carriages, including open-plan, compartment and control carriages - divided into 1st and 2nd class.

Technology and equipment

All of the cars have indirect, warm white LED interior lighting - digitally dimmable and controllable with the decoder in the cab control car. The cab control car has an mfx decoder and numerous digitally controllable functions such as high beams, cab lighting, headlights, triple headlights, and marker lights.

The cars are connected with current-carrying 4-pole couplers, the first car is equipped with a 2-pole coupler for connection with the locomotive. The set has a permanently defined set of cars and a total length over buffers of approx. 214 cm.

For large layouts and prototypical trains

The set is designed for a minimum radius of 360 mm (without taking the clearance gauge into account). For larger radii, aprons can be fitted to the ends of the carriages. The detailed interior fittings in various colors and the elaborate printing make this set an absolute eye-catcher.

Matching locomotive

Only the class 101 electric locomotive (Märklin item no. 39478) can be used for prototypical use. This locomotive has been specially coordinated with the set and is the perfect complement both visually and technically.
