Description

Märklin 43363 H0 Leichtstahlwagen 1.Klasse, SBB, Ep. IV Product Details

A Swiss Classic in Elegant Green – Märklin H0 SBB First-Class Light-Steel Car

With the Märklin 43363 1st-Class Light-Steel Car, you can add a quintessential example of late 20th-century Swiss passenger rail service to your H0 layout. Featuring a fir-green color scheme and classic bellows-style doors, this car is presented in its original configuration—an authentic model as it appeared in service around 1990.

The Prototype – Proven Light-Gauge Steel Technology from Switzerland

The SBB’s light-steel cars were in service for decades on both long-distance and commuter rail lines in Switzerland. Thanks to their robust construction and distinctive appearance—featuring four-panel doors and two entrances on each side of the car—they significantly shaped the everyday landscape of Swiss rail travel. This first-class car impresses with its elegant design and comfortable interior.

Model with a wide range of customization options

The car is built to a 1:87 scale and is approximately 26 cm long. It is prepared for the installation of interior lighting (Item No. 73400/73401 or 73410/73411) as well as for current-carrying couplers (7319 or detachable close-coupling couplers 72020/72021). This allows the car to be seamlessly integrated into existing train sets and offers flexibility for modern operating scenarios.

Combines perfectly with matching vehicles

The 1st-class lightweight steel car pairs perfectly with other cars in the series—e.g., items 43373 and 43383—as well as the SBB Re 4/4 II electric locomotive (item no. 38350). This creates a harmonious train composition for the SBB’s domestic and cross-border service around 1990.

What’s Included

Included in the set is the 1st-class light-steel passenger car in a fir-green color scheme with bellows. Interior lighting and current-carrying couplers can be retrofitted as optional accessories. The matching E700580 wheel set is available separately for DC systems.
