Classic and Sturdy – Märklin H0 SBB 2nd-Class Light-Steel Car
With the Märklin 43373 2nd-class light-steel car, you can bring authentic 1990s Swiss railroad charm to your H0 layout. With its fir-green paint scheme and characteristic bellows, this model reflects a widely used car type of the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB CFF FFS)—ideal for realistic local and long-distance transit scenes.
The Prototype – Swiss Reliability in Series Production
The SBB’s light-steel cars were the backbone of passenger service for decades. The 2nd-class car shown here featured two sets of three-panel doors and two entrances on each side—typical of this design. The 1990s-era condition depicts the car in its classic appearance prior to the major redesign of the Swiss rolling stock fleet.
Prepared for technical retrofitting
The model is built to a scale of 1:87 with a length over buffers of approximately 26 cm. It is prepared for the retrofitting of interior lighting (73400/73401 or 73410/73411) as well as for current-carrying couplers (7319 or detachable close-coupling couplers 72020/72021). This allows the car to be easily integrated into existing, electrified train sets.
Ideal Combinations for Complete Trains
The car combines perfectly with the light-steel car models 43363 (1st class) and 43383 (baggage car). For a prototypical train, we also recommend the matching SBB Re 4/4 II electric locomotive (Märklin Item No. 38350), which is a perfect visual and technical match for the rolling stock.

Included is the fir-green painted 2nd-class light-steel car with a bellows-type design. The E700580 DC wheel set is available separately. Interior lighting and a current-carrying coupler can be retrofitted as options.
