The Märklin 43613 Bcm escort car is an authentic RAlpin AG model and is a perfect addition to the "Rolling Road" train sets. Used as a passenger car and escort car for the drivers of the truck transports, it is an indispensable part of the modern RoMo trains in Alpine transit traffic. The model shows the operating condition as of 2019 and offers numerous options for upgrading with additional components.
Prototype and use
The "Rolling Road" connects Germany, Switzerland and Italy in transit traffic. In addition to the low-floor wagons for trucks, the accompanying wagon for the drivers is an integral part of these trains. Here, truck drivers can travel in comfort during the journey while their vehicles are transported safely on the wagons. The wagon features the RAlpin AG design and has been in service in this form since 2019.
Model highlights
The model is a reissue with a new road number and is based on a 2nd class type Bmz passenger coach. It has a type-specific underbody and Fiat Y0270 S bogies with sway dampers and magnetic rail brakes. This means that it corresponds to the prototype in all details and provides a realistic image in model railroad operation.
Technical features
The car is prepared for the installation of a current-carrying coupler (7319 or 72022), a pickup shoe (73406), interior lighting (73410/73411) and end-of-train lighting (73407). This allows the model to be flexibly extended and adapted to individual requirements. The car has a length of 28.2 cm over buffers and is suitable for radii from 360 mm. A DC wheel set (E700580) is also available.
Use on the model railroad
You can round off your "Rolling Road" models with this escort car and create realistic train formations in combined transport. Together with the low-floor cars from the Märklin 47407 and 47408 sets, an authentic picture of modern Era VI Alpine transit traffic is created.
