Slag cars are special transport cars designed to carry the slag produced during the blast furnace process—the hot, liquid waste product of steel production. The cars feature large pans that can be tilted to the side to empty the slag into pits or containers. In industrial facilities, particularly in the Ruhr region, such cars were indispensable.
