minicar 66005 Bausatz: Multicar M25 IFA

With its new cab, the M25 with tarpaulin is exhibited as a novelty at the 1978 Leipzig Fair and wins several awards. The IFA logo as well as the lamp trim rings, the tail lights, the door handles and the license plates are elaborately printed several times. Open doors, a dummy engine, prototypically labeled tires on correctly reproduced rims and rollability distinguish this completely new model vehicle. The axle shafts are made of blackened steel. A printed sheet with alternative license plates is included.

In the fall of 1978, the new Multicar 25 is presented at the Leipzig Fair, where it receives several awards, both for its overall concept and for its design. With the new cab, the low-slung windshield, the elongated side windows and the single-arm wiper, its design is modern and forward-looking. The 4 VD 8.8/8.5-2 SRF engine is the same as that of its predecessor, the M24, and the frame is similar but revised: bolted cross members make it even more torsionally flexible. The body variants already familiar from the M24 have been adopted and supplemented by others: skip loader and universal assembly mast are just two examples that expand the already diverse range of applications of the Multicar. Options for the transmission (creep speed) and the scope of the hydraulic system allow the vehicle to perform its tasks even better. More than 100,000 vehicles of the M25 left the production halls of the VEB Fahrzeugwerk Waltershausen, which was renamed Multicar Spezialfahrzeuge GmbH Waltershausen in 1990, until it was replaced by the M26 in 1992.
