Minitrix 16445 N Dampflok BR 44, DB, Ep. VI Museum, Ep. III Optik, DC-MFX-Sound Product Details
Minitrix 16445 N Class 44 Steam Locomotive, DB, DC MFX Sound - German Federal Railroad Oil Giant in the Condition of the 1960s
The Minitrix 16445 steam locomotive is a detailed reproduction of the class 44 of the German Federal Railroad in the condition around 1963/64. The heavy freight locomotive with an oil tender of the standard construction type 2'2'T34 has the road number 44 1315 and can be seen today as a restored original in the Märklineum. In a classic black and red color scheme and with typical Era III construction features, this model is a must for all fans of historic DB steam locomotives.
Powerful, heavy and technically precise
The locomotive and tender are predominantly made of die-cast metal and ensure high tractive power and optimum running characteristics. A powerful bell-shaped armature motor with flywheel mass is located in the boiler and drives five axles via coupling rods - supported by traction tires. The running gear is prototypical, including a spoked leading wheel set and Indusi magnets on both sides.
Digital functions with light, sound and flickering fire
An mfx/DCC-compatible digital decoder with sound generator provides realistic steam locomotive sounds. The warm white three-light headlights, the engine lighting, the cab lighting and the firebox flickering can be controlled digitally and provide a harmonious operating atmosphere. The smokebox door can be opened in a prototypical manner and piston rod protection tubes are included for retrofitting.
Authentic appearance with prototypical equipment
The tender is correctly equipped with a combination of spoke and disk wheels. The locomotive and tender are close-coupled, and there is an NEM coupler pocket at the tender end. With a length over buffers of 141 mm, this model is an impressive representative of heavy DB freight traffic on any N layout.
