Prototype: The Saxon IV K is probably the best known narrow gauge locomotive. With 96 units, it was Germany's most built narrow gauge locomotive. The locomotives were built from 1892 - 1921. After the Second World War, the condition of the locomotives deteriorated. From 1963, 23 of these Meyer locomotives were overhauled and almost completely rebuilt. Today, 18 new-build and 4 old-build locomotives are still in existence. 11 locomotives are still operational.
