PIKO 21025 - H0 Class E 669.1 electric locomotive, ČSD, Era IV with sound

With the Piko 21025, PIKO brings the factory-equipped version of the heavy six-axle electric locomotive E 669.1 of the Czechoslovak State Railways (ČSD) to the H0 tracks. This locomotive is a milestone in Eastern European freight transportation and, with its enormous tractive power, became the mainstay on the direct current lines in the north and east of what was then Czechoslovakia.

Built from the early 1960s by Škoda in Pilsen, a total of 150 locomotives of this series were built. The aim was to harness the heaviest freight trains with just one locomotive instead of running them in double traction at great expense. Five of these locomotives are still in use at ČD Cargo today - an impressive sign of their durability.

The locomotive offers a white/red light change depending on the direction of travel, digitally switchable cab and engine room lighting as well as driver's desk lighting. All lighting functions can be individually controlled via the digital central unit and contribute to the impressive representation of model operation.

Roof garden & detailed equipment

The roof is elaborately detailed with two filigree metal pantographs and a realistic roof garden. Rail scrapers, detailed interior fittings in the driver's cab and engine room as well as precise engravings ensure the highest degree of authenticity.

Technical data & compatibility

The locomotive has a length over buffers of 216 mm and is designed for a minimum radius of 358 mm. It is equipped with an NEM shaft with close coupler link and can be reliably coupled with all standard wagons.

Scope of delivery

The Piko 21025 electric locomotive class E 669.1 ČSD is supplied with a factory-installed sound decoder, including instructions. The locomotive is fully digitized and ready for operation for DC DCC use.
