PIKO 21048 - H0 Rh 1067 electric locomotive, ÖBB, Era III, green, with sound

The Piko 21048 is the green Era III sound version of the unusual ÖBB Rh 1067 electric locomotive - a real collector's item and technically unique! Only five locomotives of this series were built between 1961 and 1994, which are characterized by an electro-hydraulic drive and the diesel locomotive-like design with a central driver's cab.

The model shown here is based on the early years of operation of the 1067 with fir green paintwork, as was typical for the ÖBB in the 1960s. The locomotives were used for shunting services - and even though the drive system proved to be prone to faults, the locomotive is still one of the most striking and rarest appearances in Austrian railroad operations today. Two machines are preserved in museums today.

Digital & sound ex works

The locomotive is factory-equipped with a PluX22 sound decoder and offers PIKO TrainSound® onboard - with true-to-original sounds such as the locomotive engine, compressor, fan, brakes and other functions. All sounds and light functions can be controlled digitally via any standard DCC control center.

Lighting & digital functions

The model has a three-light headlights with red tail lights, which light up depending on the direction of travel in analog mode and can be switched individually in digital mode. The locomotive also has digitally switchable cab and driver's desk lighting, headlights that can be switched off and a digital shunting light.

Detailing & technology

The visual highlights include a delicate metal scissor pantograph without visible screws, a detailed reproduction of the cooling system with a free-standing fan wheel and a finely designed running gear with numerous add-on parts. The interior lighting can also be controlled digitally.

Functionality & presentation

With a length over buffers of 121 mm and a minimum radius of 358 mm, the locomotive can be used universally. NEM shaft with close coupler link and two traction tires ensure safe operation. A base plate with track replica is included for the display case, including accessories such as coupling hooks, brake lines and covers.
