Piko 21773 H0 electric locomotiveBR 110 blau/beige, DB, Ep. IV Product Details
Classic in a new color variant - Piko 21773 H0 electric locomotive BR 110 DB Ep. IV blue/beige
With the Piko 21773, the manufacturer is launching a new print version of the popular class 110 on the market - in the style-defining blue-beige color scheme of Era IV. This version reflects the appearance of the German Federal Railroad in the 1970s and early 1980s and is an absolute must for fans of classic Federal Railroad models. The locomotive impresses with its prototypical design, technical refinements and high compatibility with existing H0 track systems.
Technology & equipment
The model is designed for direct current operation and has a modern PluX22 digital interface in accordance with NEM 658, which allows easy retrofitting with a digital or sound decoder. Thanks to two traction tires, the locomotive ensures reliable traction on the layout - even with longer train sets. The integrated lighting includes a white/red light change depending on the direction of travel as well as digitally switchable cab and engine room lighting (in conjunction with a PluX22 decoder).
Design and faithfulness to the prototype
The blue/beige livery was widespread in Era IV and gave the DB fleet a modern, friendly appearance. Piko has implemented this color scheme authentically and with high precision. The model shows finely detailed engravings, exact printing and impresses with its harmonious overall appearance. Whether as a solo locomotive or train locomotive in local and long-distance traffic - the BR 110 cuts an excellent figure in every constellation.
Driving behavior & compatibility
With a length over buffers of 190 mm and a minimum radius of 358 mm, the locomotive is ideal for use on all standard H0 track systems. The coupler is equipped with an NEM shaft and a close coupler link, which ensures a close and reliable connection to other vehicles.
Prototype reference and possible applications
The class 110 was the backbone of the German Federal Railroad's electric passenger service. In Era IV, it was used in numerous local, express and long-distance services. The color variant shown here is one of the best-known appearances of this locomotive series and is perfect for depicting the typical DB operations of the 70s and 80s.
Scope of delivery
The Piko 21773 DC locomotive is supplied in the Era IV version including operating instructions. The PIKO sound decoder with item number 56549 (not included) is suitable for retrofitting.
Who is this model intended for?
The Piko 21773 is aimed at collectors, Era IV fans and ambitious model railroaders who want to add an authentic and technically up-to-date electric locomotive to their layout. Thanks to the simple digitization and the optional switchable interior lighting, the model offers many possibilities for individual design.
