With the Piko 22007, PIKO presents a particularly charming version of the classic three-axle diesel locomotive Rh 500 - as an operational museum locomotive of the VSM (Veluwsche Stoomtrein Maatschappij). This Era VI version shows the historic NS locomotive in a well-kept condition, as it is used today on museum trips in the Netherlands - a real highlight for fans of operational traditional vehicles.

Between 1946 and 1989, the class 500 was an integral part of NS shunting operations. From British military material to NS's own series, the Rh 500 developed into an unmistakable classic at Dutch railroad stations. With the takeover by VSM, some machines live on today - technically maintained and visually in top form.

The locomotive is designed for direct current operation and has an NEM 658 PluX22 interface. For a realistic retrofit, the PIKO sound decoder #56642 is recommended, which is exactly matched to this series and provides all typical locomotive sounds.

The model features numerous intricate details such as fine spoked wheels, free-standing grab rails, as well as attached battery and sand boxes, air tanks and spring assemblies. In addition, the water level indicator, tank filler neck, locomotive whistle and sign holder are also reproduced. Accessories for presentation in the display case are included.

With a length over buffers of 104 mm, the locomotive is particularly suitable for operation in station and shunting areas. The minimum radius is 358 mm. Two traction tires ensure good tractive power. The locomotive is equipped with NEM shafts and close coupler link - for flexible use in different operating environments.
