With the Piko 28008, PIKO is bringing a classic of local transportation to the H0 tracks: the Halberstadt middle-entry coach By in the Deutsche Bahn AG version for Era V. This coach was a familiar sight on regional services in the 1990s and early 2000s - robust, functional and universally applicable.

The model precisely reproduces the typical proportions on a scale of 1:87 and impresses with its crystal-clear, flush-mounted windows, detailed interior and finely finished bogies, grab rails and steps. The classic red paintwork with DB logo is faithfully reproduced and fits perfectly into train sets of this period.

Model from everyday local transport

The center-entry cars from Halberstadt were the backbone of local transport in East and West Germany. They were modernized in Era V and converted to the DB AG color scheme. PIKO presents this section of railroad history with great attention to detail.

Technical equipment & extensions

The car has a length over buffers of 303 mm and is suitable for a minimum radius of 358 mm. Equipped with an NEM shaft and close coupler link, it can be easily integrated into existing train formations. Interior lighting and rear train lighting can be retrofitted with item no. 56312.
