The Piko Halberstadt center entrance control car in the Era VI version as a vehicle of TRI - Train Rental GmbH in the service of the Mitteldeutsche Regiobahn (MRB) brings a striking piece of East German railroad history into the present. With modernized equipment and a Wittenberg head, this car offers everything needed for realistic regional transport under private operators.
Model highlights - finely detailed and ready for use
The model features a detailed interior, finely reproduced doors and free-standing steps, grab rails and windshield wipers. The interior lighting is prepared and can be retrofitted. The dimensions with a clearance of 303 mm and the NEM shaft coupler with close coupler link make it reliable and universally applicable.
Prototype: Wittenberg head for modern private railroad use
After the dismantling of numerous Halberstadt wagons from DB stock, many vehicles were sold to private companies such as TRI. In Era VI, they continue to be used by MRB and others - mostly in combination with V 100 diesel variants or modern electric traction. They represent the transformation from former Reichsbahn carriages to reliable rental vehicles in today's regional rail transport.
Operation & compatibility
The car is suitable for all H0 DC layouts with a minimum radius of 358 mm. It can be easily combined with other Halberstadt cars, Y cars or matching locomotives using the NEM shaft with close coupler link. The interior lighting can be retrofitted and enhances the appearance of any layout.
