The Piko G-Sound diesel locomotive NoHAB in EBS version is a real highlight for garden railroad enthusiasts. As a powerful representative of the well-known F series from EMD, built from 1954 by NoHAB in Sweden, this locomotive is one of the most striking diesel engines in Europe. Affectionately known as the "round nose" locomotive, it was originally built for state railroads in Scandinavia and Central Europe - and is still in service today with private railroad operators such as EBS in Germany.

Digital equipment with sound & light

The locomotive is factory-equipped with a PIKO sound decoder that produces true-to-original engine sounds and other operating sounds. The cab lighting, engine room lighting and running gear lighting can be switched individually via digital control. The locomotive is equipped with the finest fan grilles, free-standing grab irons, signal horns and flush-mounted portholes - a real masterpiece for G train enthusiasts.

NoHAB - A European railroad icon

Between 1954 and 1965, 165 locomotives of this series were built. In addition to the Scandinavian countries, they were also used in Belgium, Hungary and later throughout Europe due to the liberalization of the railroad market. The EBS model is exemplary of the modern, commercial use of this locomotive legend.

Thanks to its weatherproof construction, the model is designed for both indoor and outdoor use. The direction-dependent light change (white/red) ensures realistic operating situations. With a minimum radius of 600 mm, the locomotive is ideal for large-scale layouts.
