The Piko H0 Rh 1018 sound electric locomotive from the ÖBB combines classic express locomotive tradition with the latest digital technology. The eight locomotives of this series, built on the basis of the German E 18, were ordered in 1937 for the newly electrified Western Railway and continued after the war under the designation series 1018. PIKO is now bringing this locomotive to the model railroad as a true-to-form Epoch V version with factory-installed PluX22 sound decoder and digital lighting.

Technology & appearance at the highest level

The model impresses with digitally switchable driver's cab and engine room lighting as well as two metal scissor pantographs. The harmonious implementation of the converted ÖBB front ends, the filigree etched parts and the detailed furnishings in the driver's cab and engine room underline the prototypical standard. The PIKO TrainSound® decoder provides a sonorous operating feeling.

Rh 1018 - express locomotive with a long service life

After extensive modifications and adaptations, the locomotives remained in service with the ÖBB until the 1990s - the 1018.05 even until 2001 for special trains. Their striking appearance and reliable operation made them a popular model for many model railroaders.

Fully digitally controllable

Equipped with an NEM 658 PluX22 interface and factory-fitted sound decoder, the locomotive is fully digitally controllable. The white/redlight change depending on the direction of travel and the driver's cab lighting create a harmonious overall look when the locomotive is running.
