With the Piko 51479 electric locomotive 194 178, PIKO brings an extraordinary model of Era IV to your H0 tracks. This locomotive was the only one of its class to be painted in the new DB ocean blue/ivory color scheme as part of a general inspection in 1976 - a truly unique model that earned it the nickname "Blue Mauritius". A unique model on rails - the history of the 194 178

Between 1954 and 1956, the German Federal Railroad had 43 locomotives of the heavy freight train series E 94 rebuilt. From 1968, the E 94 178 was operated as the BR 194 178. Its unusual paintwork in ocean blue and ivory with a bright contrasting area on the front was never repeated - a unique selling point that PIKO has recreated in this sound version with great attention to detail.

The model impresses with finely engraved body elements, realistic paintwork and digitally switchable driver's cab lighting. The light changes in LED technology, white/red and is dependent on the direction of travel. The close coupler link ensures reliable car connections, even on tighter radii from 358 mm.
