Piko 51909 electric locomotive BR 140, DB, Ep. IV Product Details
Variant of the BR 140 in the beige-blue livery of the BR in Era IV. With the class 140 in Era IV, PIKO is once again turning to an absolute classic of the German Federal Railroad. The bread and butter locomotive achieved great popularity due to its high number of units and decades of use. The PIKO model has numerous extras, including free-standing grab rails, digitally switchable cab lighting and enclosed brake hoses. The five-pole PIKO motor, which drives all four axles, ensures excellent running characteristics with its two large flywheel masses and power pick-up via eight wheels. To ensure a high tractive force, the compact model has a die-cast zinc frame and two traction tires that sit diagonally to each other on the inside axles of both bogies. The model features all PIKO standards, including a PluX22 interface, white/red light change and close coupler kinematics. The PIKO BR 140 is prepared for retrofitting with a sound decoder and large loudspeaker.
