About the prototype: NOHAB is a European license version of the American standard locomotives of the F series from EMD. The designation was created by the licensee Nydqvist och Holm AB (NOHAB). The locomotives operated in a large number of European countries, including Belgium, Denmark, Hungary, Germany, Sweden, Austria, Spain and Luxembourg. The locomotive's appearance is characterized above all by its round nose ("bulldog nose") at the top of the locomotive with narrow windows sloping downwards at the sides. The locomotives were used by various state railroads, but over time also passed into the ownership of various private companies.

About the model: With this model of the NOHAB, Piko offers a visually and technically convincing model.
