Piko 53138 H0 2nd Class Mail Carriage, DR, Ep. III - Historical Model for Authentic Branch Line Operation
With the Piko 53138 Deutsche Reichsbahn mail coach, you can bring a detailed piece of railroad history from Era III to your H0 model railroad layout. The car is based on a design of the former Saxon State Railroad, which procured compartment cars for passenger trains until after the First World War. PIKO has impressively implemented this traditional design with great attention to detail.
Historical model with versatile use
Between 1910 and 1916, two- and three-axle coaches with brakeman's cab were manufactured - including combined mail and freight coaches like this one. They were used for seating as well as for transporting luggage and mail. In Era III, this vehicle continued to be used in regular DR operations on branch lines and in rural regions.
