Piko 53274 Eilzug Schürzenwagen AB4yslwe 1./2. Klasse, DB, Ep. III Product Details
These striking passenger coaches were created from two prototype coaches developed by Linke-Hoffmann-Busch in 1939, which were based on the well-known DRG "Schürzen" express train coaches. They also had streamlined side skirts and clad car ends. Unlike the express train coaches, the entrances at the ends of the coaches were set back and fitted with two revolving doors each for faster passenger changes.
After the war, both the DB and the DR had this type of coach in their fleet. In 1978, the DB still had three coaches, now known as Bye670, and one AByse633. The DR took the last vehicles of this type out of service in 1981. Only three of these skirted cable cars have been preserved as museum vehicles for the traditional train of the Nuremberg Transport Museum.
