The PIKO SmartDecoder XP - PSD for short - of the latest generation offers demanding model railroaders a maximum of technology, comfort and versatility. The decoder impresses with a comprehensive range of functions and has been specially developed for modern digital systems. In this version, it is already matched to the sound profile of the G1700 and includes a suitable loudspeaker.

Universally applicable with numerous digital formats

The PIKO SmartDecoder supports all common data formats such as DCC with RailComPlus®, Motorola and basic mfx® functionality. Thanks to Plug & Play, the decoder can be easily connected to suitable digital control centers - ideal for quick use on the layout. It is equipped with an NEM 658 PluX22 interface and therefore offers the greatest possible compatibility with modern locomotives with a corresponding decoder slot.

Sound experience and variety of functions at the highest level

A special highlight is the sound reproduction via 8 channels with a total playing time of up to 8 minutes. The decoder-internal coupling enables a direct connection between sound, motor control and function outputs - for a realistically synchronized driving experience. Up to 68 function outputs can be individually assigned and programmed (function mapping up to F68).

Technology for trouble-free and long-lasting digital experiences

The auto-adaptive motor control ensures sensitive, precise driving movements for a wide variety of locomotive types. Thanks to innovative power management, the decoder also masters critical track sections without any problems. Improved temperature distribution also supports the service life and reliability of the electronics. All common braking distance modes are supported as well as ABC slow running and ABC shuttle train operation.

Updateable and expandable

The PIKO SmartDecoder XP is updateable and can be conveniently updated via the PIKO SmartProgrammer system PSP (art. no. 56415) or the PSCwlan module (art. no. 55821). This means that the decoder remains future-proof and flexibly adaptable - for example in the event of function changes or sound updates.
